Prime Minister of the UK David Cameron was on hand at the McLaren factory for the opening of its new production facility.
While opening the facility McLaren said that it aim to be, "a homegrown sports car manufacturer to take on the likes of Europe's and North America's giants.

Now, industry is realizing that Britain's grand manufacturing tradition is a solid platform on which to build -- and I want McLaren Group to play its part in the crucial recalibration of UK plc."
