Vettel back in pole position in Bahrain

Vettel during qualifying in Bahrain

Sebastian Vettel seems to have rediscovered his form as he conquered pole position ahead of tomorrow's Bahrain Grand Prix. It was Vettel's first pole of the season.

The German was the fastest during the session and Red Bull almost managed to dominate front row for tomorrow's starting grid. Yet, Lewis Hamilton put himself between the two Red Bulls, pulling Mark Webber down to third position.

Jenson Button was the fourth fastest driver during qualifying, while last week's Shanghai race winner, Nico Rosberg wasn't able to go beyond fifth place. Still it was a far better result than his team-mate Michael Schumacher, who was out of Q2. The German had problems with his DRS system, which would set him back, missing out on Q2..

In Bahrain Daniel Ricciardo got his best ever F1 qualifying result as he was the sixth fastest of the session, pushing up Toro Rosso's confidence. The Aussi driver will start tomorrow's race ahead of Lotus Romain Grosjean and Sauber's Sergio Pérez.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso will depart from ninth place in the grid, alongside with Force India Paul di Resta. Both drivers opted not to run in the last stint of qualifying, saving a set of tyres for the grand prix..
