Vettel wins for the 11th time this season

And Vettel has done it again and drove to his 11thwin of the season. This time around the already world champion won the inaugural Indian Grand Prix at the Budh International Circuit.

Vettel had a convincing win as he managed to grab a nice advantage right from the start as his team-mate Mark Webber was forced to secure his position from the attacks of McLaren’s Jenson Button and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso.

Throughout the whole race Vettel secured an advantage between four to five seconds and he completed a perfect performance by completing the fastest lap of the race.

After grabbing second place on the first lap, while Alonso ran wide letting Webber keep third spot, Jenson Button had an uncontested run to second place. Although the Australian tried to recover his position Button would manage to escape.

In the final visit to the pitstops Webber lost third position to Fernando Alonso after being the first of the frontrunners to change to the hard Pirellis.

In another chapter of the Hamilton-Massa dispute there is another collision to talk about. Massa was leading from Hamilton since the first lap and was leading by a safe margin until an error half-way through the race let him vulnerable to Hamilton attacks.

In one of those attacks as Hamilton went down the inside at Turn 5 the collision took place. Massa was given a drive-through penalty, being blamed for the situation by the stewards. The Brazilian would retire after smashing his suspension on a curb, while Hamilton managed  to recover from ninth to seventh after he had to pit for a new front wing.

Hamilton finished behind the two Mercedes drivers. Schumacher was the first of the two benefitting from a fast start and a late final pitstop to finish fifth.

It seemed like it would be another very good afternoon for Toro Rosso as both drivers looked set to finish in the points. But then Sebastien Buemi stopped as his car left behind it a cloud of smoke. Spaniard Jaime Alguersuari would finish in eighth ahead of Force India’s Adrian Sutil. The star of the day would be Sergio Perez that coming from down the order would finish tenth after running a very short runs on hard tyres and then switching to soft tyres for a long period.

Following the same strategy as Perez was Petrov who narrowly missed on tenth position. Bruno Senna had some KERS problems which stopped him from being able to fight longer for tenth position, finishing 12th.
