of efficiency. Where the Veyron pushed the limits how fast a car could be, the XL1 will attempt is slated to use 0.9l/100km (261mpg).
The XL1 will use an 800cc, two-cylinder diesel engine that produces 47hp and a 27hp electric motor with a seven-speed DSG. The engine is mid-mounted and sends power to the rear wheels, and it seats just two people. The top speed is limited to 160km/h (99mph), and it can drive up to 35km/h (22mph) purely on the electric engine.
In addition to the engine, the efficiency comes from two factors - low weight and great aerodynamics. The XL1 weighs a scant 795kg, and as you can see from the pictures lacks even side view mirrors. Instead there are rear-facing cameras with screens inside the car. The coefficient of drag is 0.186.
