Volkswagen Celebrating 60 Years in the UK at Goodwood Festival of Speed

is celebrating 60 years of selling vehicles in the UK this year and will be showing off this year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 12-14.

Among the VW’s on display will be the XL1, which will also make a run up the hill climb driven by Le Mans champion Jacky Ickx. The car could be called the first green supercar. It emits just 21g/km of CO2 and uses a carbon fiber reinforced plastic body with a two-cylinder diesel engine powering an electric motor. It sits 1,282mm (50.5in) off the ground.

rally car will also be on display and also making a run up the Goodwood hill. 

Volkswagen will also have the new, seventh-generation GTI and GTD models on display. They represent the current performance peak in the Golf range with petrol and diesel power.
