Through October, sales are basically flat compared to last year, but it is growing rapidly in China with sales up 42.2%. The next step is to improve sales in North America, especially the United States.
Volvo announced to its American dealers that it is bringing new models, new engines and has signed a new ad agency to inject new life into the brand.
The company will be marketed in the US has having attractive “Scandinavian” design, safety and advanced infotainment systems.
"Volvo should be premium, but in a different way from the Germans," said Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson.
It wants to sell 100,000 cars in the US by 2016 from 52,112 through October of this year, a 6.6% decline. Volvo’s best sales year ever in the US was in 2004 when it sold 139,000 cars.

will be added to the US at the end of 2014 or possibly very early in 2015. The top XC90 will use a turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor mounted on the rear axle with a combined 400hp. Plug-in hybrids are possible further in the future.
"We are definitely not even thinking of reducing our presence in the U.S. Volvo would not be Volvo without the US,” said Samuelsson.
