BMW and Pininfarina developed the Gran Lusso Coupe for the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2013, which takes a 6 Series and adds Italian flair. The car's concept harkens back to Pininfarina Ferraris of the 60s that supplied luxury and the ability to eat up long distances of European roads at a stretch.
Looking at the Gran Lusso Coupe, the 6 Series heritage is obvious. Pininfarina took the design and subtly changed it. The nose is blunter, and the sides have far more sculpting, especially at the rear. For the trunk, Pininfarina reworked the shape to fit the rest of the design better. As opposed to being flatter as on the standard 6 Series, the Gran Lusso Coupe lets the line of the trunk follow the roof and accentuate the coupe line.
