The Kia Motors Corporation is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea and was founded in 1944, initially as builder of steel tubes and bicycle parts. In 1998 Kia was bought by Hyundai Motor Company. The company is manufacturing economic passenger cars, SUV's and commercial vehicles, focussing on Europe as important growth market. Kia Motors has invested significantly in redefining its design and sharpening the brand image in recent years.
