History, Development and General Characteristics

The fifth generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer was released in 1991 and produced until 1995.
This generation included a turbocharged GSR version to embody a high-performance Lancer.

Engine and Transmission

The 5th generation Lancer’s earlier engine range includes displacement capacities of 1.3, 1.5 and 1.8 litres. A V6 unit with just 1.6 L and a turbocharged 1.8 L unit were also added to the options.
This model’s standard transmission was a 5-speed manual but an optional 4-speed automatic transmission was also made available.
