History, Development and General Characteristics

The seventh generation Mitsubishi Lancer, also known as Lancer Cedia (“century diamond”) in Japan, was launched in 2000.
This is the first Lancer generation where the car is sold under the same nameplate in every market. Its production lasted until 2006.

Engine and Transmission

The 7th generation Lancer’s front engines are available with 1.3, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 and 2.4 liters of displacement capacity.
The car comes with front-wheel drive and a standard 5-speed manual transmission, to which are added the optional 4-speed automatic and semi-automatic transmission units.
