Fiat's purchase of Chrysler has yielded some weird results already like the Fiat Freemont, which is a rebadged Dodge Journey. Now Fiat is bringing yet another Chrysler vehicle to Italy in the guise of the Lancia Voyager, which is a rebadged Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan.
Power for the Lancia Voyager comes from a choice of two engine. Either a 2.8l diesel making 163hp or Chrysler's new, 3.6l Pentastar V6 with 283hp. The Pentastar engine was just introduced this year and is being used in a variety of Chrysler vehicles including Jeeps. It has been getting good reviews from publications in the US.
The Voyager seats seven people in its 5.21m long body. The interior has Chrysler's Stow&Go seating system that lets buyers fold the third row of seats into the floor to create more storage space. There is also an optional Nappa leather interior package, if you are not buying this minivan to haul your kids in. The other package available adds two 9 inch LCD screens with remote controls and wireless headphones.
Fiat did not announce a price for the Lancia Voyager, but in the US the Dodge Grand Caravan starts at $23,995 with the Pentastar V6.
