2013 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Filmed Testing at Oschersleben

The footage is not great, but it is the first that is available

An eagle-eyed videographer has grabbed the first video of the new 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR testing at Oschersleben. The GT3 RSR911 GT3 RSRPorsche 911 GT3 RSRGermany, 2012 > present6 photos
is the racing spec version of the 911 that will be used for customer teams from the Carrera Cup to the 24 Hours of Le Mans depending on specification.

The first major revelation is that it appears to be not based on the new 991 chassis that might be expected. PorschePorschePorscheGermany, 1931 > present43 models

is sticking with the 997 chassis for its racecar for next year at least in testing trim. That does not seem too great for marketing.

If you watch the video carefully, the two cars running around the track are slightly different. One is running with a higher wing than the other. This could just be two setups being compared or the Cup and Le Mans versions testing together. It also appears that Porsche is sticking with the super wide rear flares from the 2012 RSR.

The video below comes from Radio Le Mans who tweeted: "Porsche Motorsport confirm MWM report that 2013 RSR retains 997 body shape. But check the video for sneak peek."

The video is not the higest quality, but provides the first glimpse at Porsche's race car of tomorrow.
