At next month’s Geneva Motor Show Peugeot will be presenting a new concept: the 5 By Peugeot. This concept shows the ambitions of the French brand in the large luxury segment. Following the newest design line of Peugeot’s vehicles, such as the SR1 or RCZ, and incorporating Peugeot’s HYbrid4 Technology, the 5 By Peugeot allies modern looks with the environmental challenges.
At the front we find one of the main design features of the concept vehicle, a front grille that seems to be suspended or detached from the vehicle. Together with Peugeot’s SR1 concept car, the 5 By Peugeot follows the example in the recent reinterpretation of the brand’s aesthetic codes.
The 5 By Peugeot is powered by an engine using the French make Hybrid4 Technology, which will be featuring as standard from 2011 in the 3008 model. The concept car that will be presented in Geneva will be equipped with a 2.0 l HDi FAP 120 kW diesel engine, located at the front of the vehicle and a 27 kW (37 bhp) electric motor at the rear.
The 5 By Peugeot, which can also be driven in an only electric mode at low speeds, has a fuel consumption average of 3.8 litres/100 km and emissions of 99 g/km, in hybrid mode.
