Ito Takanobu, president and CEO of Honda, has revealed plans for a successor to the NSX, a car he worked on early in his career as a Honda engineer.
The new NSX will be radically different to other modern supercars. The focus will be on a high power-to-weight ratio as opposed to having a high headline power figure.
He said “I spent part of my early career developing the NSX, and specifically the lightweight aluminium body...so it is my wish that Honda engineers have experience developing a car like the NSX in the future.”
The original NSX weighed 1350 kg due to its aluminium body. It is clear that Takanobu wants its successor to beat that figure while also creating an environmentally friendly supercar.
