has broken ground on a new Driving Experience Center in Neuburg, Germany, that will cover 47 hectares (116 acres) of land and be the new headquarters of Audi Sport. Neuberg is roughly 23km west of Audi's headquarters in Ingolstadt. When completed, the center will employ 300 people most of whom will work for Audi Sport.

“The future driving experience center at the new Audi site in Neuburg will be synonymous with customer delight and driving experiences. Here, existing and prospective Audi customers will soon be able to get to know our models from an entirely new perspective,” said Audi Head of Technical Development Michael Dick.

In addition to entertaining customers, Audi Sport will be developing all of its racecars at the new site. The site will contain a 30,000m2 skid pad, a 2.2km-handling course, a 1.2km-motorway simulator and an off-road course including an 8m tall hill. The entire facility will be surrounded by two fences for privacy and noise abatement - one 3ft tall and another 6ft tall.

The center will open in the spring of 2014.
