BMW F10 M5 Is the New Ring Taxi

The new Ring Taxi is based on the F10 M5 with 560hp.

The Nürburgring Nordschleife has received a new Ring Taxi based on the F10 chassis M5. For the last year, the interim Ring Taxi had been an M3, but now the M5 is ready to take passengers around the track starting on April 1.

BMW has its first half year of dates up to schedule your lap of the track here. A lap costs €216, or $282.55 currently. It appears that the taxi is available most Sundays and some Mondays and Saturdays. Tickets are also available at the Ring Taxi building in the Nordschleife parking lot, but they are based only on canceled reservations or cars that are not completely full. Do not show up expecting to get a ride. The cars can take 3 passengers at a time.

In the past, the Ring Taxi has had a stock engine but some minor mechanical modification like better brake pads and stickier tires.

Famous 'Ring driver Sabine Schmitz no longer drives the Ring Taxi. She now has her own team, Frikadelli Racing Team, that offers passenger laps of the Nordschleife prior to VLN races in the team's race-prepped Porsche 911.

However, in the past Hans Joachim Stuck has driven the Ring Taxi when he is at the track, which would make for a very exciting lap.

Below is a lap of Sabine in the previous, E60 M5 Ring Taxi.
