It seems like every year there is at least one blockbuster that uses a concept car to make the star look cool and edgy. Transformers used the Camaro, I, Robot used an Audi RSQ, and Tom Cruise may have kicked it off with a Lexus concept in Minority Report in 2002. Cruise's love of concepts has not run out yet. His new movie, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, features a pre-production BMW i8.
The BMW i8 is a forthcoming sports car in which BMW hopes to blend style, speed and efficiency.
“One great example is the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car which will be presented in the film. With its futuristic design and large glass surfaces, the car offers a fascinating perspective on the future of sheer driving pleasure,” said Ian Robertson, BMW AGBoard Member for Sales and Marketing.
The car can be seen briefly in the trailer below at the minute and 1:10 marks.
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol will be released mid-December, 2011 in the US.
