The CTS-V Sport Wagon set to become the next addition to the V-Series performance line of Cadillac has been unveiled. The brand has presented the show car, a combination of the performance and luxury of the CTS-V Sport Sedan with the design of the CTS Sport Wagon.
“The CTS-V Sport Wagon is a natural extension of both the V-Series and the CTS lineup, offering an uncompromising performance car to enthusiasts who want the extra room of a wagon,” said Don Butler, vice president for Cadillac marketing. “The V-Series Sport Wagon is another hallmark of the dramatic presence and power of Cadillac vehicles.”
The show car features the Midnight Silver color combined with the Liquid Silver of the wheels and the black chrome finish in the grille’s mesh insert. Other unique features of the show car are the rear fascia, the upper spoiler and the center high-mounted stop lamp.
The CTS-V Sport Wagon will be powered by Cadillac’s most powerful engine, a supercharged 6.2L V-8 like the sedan and coupe V-Series. This supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine delivers 415 kW of power through either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. The engine also has a maximum torque of 747 Nm.
Going into production in late 2010, the CTS-V Sport Wagon will go on sale first in the North American market and will then head to Europe and Middle East. With the CTS-V Sport Wagon Cadillac now offers all variants the CTS family’s sedan, coupe and sport wagon body styles.
