has revealed its Wild RubisDS DS Wild RubisFrance, 2013 > 2013 concept ahead of the Shanghai Motor Show on April 20, and it has made it clear that it plans to build a production version of the car that will be aimed primarily at China. Citroën is trying to position the DS sub-brand as being connected to French luxury in China.
The Wild Rubis is designed to combine power and luxury in its looks. The front has a large style panel with a stylized DS emblem that connects to the complicated full LED headlights, which wrap around nearly to the front wheel wells. It is meant to bare a resemblance to the Numero 9 concept.
From the side, the most obvious element is that thick C-pillar set at a steeply acute angle.
The rear shows the Wild Rubis' most interesting feature; the roof is higher along the sides than it is in the middle. This is probably to provide more entry room to passengers, but it makes the Wild Rubis look like it has horns from the rear. The car is 4.7m long, 1.95m wide and 1.59m tall with a 2.9m wheelbase. The concept rides on 21in wheels with the DS emblem etched into the spokes.
Citroën says that the Wild Rubis uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it has not given any further details yet. The power and economy figures will be revealed ahead of the Shanghai Motor Show.
