has just revealed another surprise for the Wörthersee tuning festival: the Golf GTE SportAMC GTA ConvertibleUnited States of America, 1987 > present. This vehicle combines the knowledge gained from the development of the Polo R WRCVolkswagen Polo R WRCGermany, 2015 > present with plug-in hybrid technology.
The concept features a combined output of 400hp and 670Nm of torque resulting from the combination of the four-cylinder engine from the Polo R WRC and two electric motors, one placed on each axle. The 1.6-liter TSI engine from the rally car has 300hp and 400Nm of torque while the front electric motor has 115hp and 330Nm and the the rear has the same output but a torque of 270Nm.
In sport mode "GTE" the three engines work together and accelerate the Golf GTE Sport to 100km/in 4.3 seconds and to a top speed of 280km/h. The vehicle has an average hybrid consumption of 2.0l/100km. Furthermore the GTE Sport can also be moved only on electricity over 50km, with no emissions.
It can be said that the vehicle turns out to abolish some barriers between road and track cars. The plug-in hybrid system with all-wheel drive system, lightweight body, enhanced aerodynamics, steering system based on the Golf GTE design, in addition to the new racing cockpit and an unusual seating concept allows a great performance on track.
The body is mostly made of carbon fiber and like the XL1Volkswagen XL1Germany, 2011 > 201119 photos

Inside carbon fiber also reigns, with the bucket in the driver and passenger seats being separated by a large central console. the buckets have five-point harnesses and were placed further back in order to optimize the weight distribution of the Golf GTE Sport.
The instrument panel was replaced with three high-tech transparent screens placed one behind the other. At the front is the indicator of speed.
