as its core models will advance in 2015 when it plans to launch a five-door version of the 500.

“What we know for sure is that next year we’ll have the 500X [crossover]. We already have the 500LFiat 500L 1.4 MultiAir Tu...Italy, 2014 > present so we won’t stop there; it’s reasonable that there’ll be further additions,” said Lorenzo Ramaciotti, Fiat Group head of design.

The new car will share a platform with the five-door 500L, which will also give it a longer wheelbase than the standard 500. Styling will be kept in step with the 500 with two-part headlights and a short hood. Engines will be shared across the 500 lineup.

“The brand’s future will be running on these two rails. The 500 is for more emotional and exclusive models; the Panda is for more practical and easy-to-use cars,” said Ramaciotti.
