Citroën has revealed the first details of its new C4 that is set to have its world premiere at September’s Paris motor show. According to the French brand the new C4 has been “Designed to exceed the highest expectations” and “boasts a real positive energy - with exceptional levels of quality, style, interior space and occupant comfort, as well as responsive handling and impressive environmental credentials”.
With 4.33m long, 1.79m wide and 1.49m high, New C4 is just 5cm longer, 2cm wider and 3cm taller than the current model. The flowing surfaces of its front end and rear spoiler demonstrate the aerodynamics enhancement that the C4 received. The car has also been handled a premium presence thanks to the chrome detailing combined with the dynamic headlight styling and sculpted alloy wheels.
The new C4 will also be equipped with the largest boot in its class. With practical square dimensions and a lower sill the 408-litre boot should make loading easier.
Drivers will be able to choose from a range of engines that will include Citroën’s new micro-hybrid e-HDi powertrains, which feature the latest generation Stop & Start system that helps deliver CO2 emissions as low as 109g/km.
Besides the engines everything has been taken in consideration to create a vehicle that is environmentally respectful. The new C4 is fitted with Michelin Energy™ Saver tyres that have been conceived to help achieve these low emissions and to boost fuel economy. Finally The use of 15% ‘green’ materials, for example, re-cycled polyamide components, is another characteristic that makes the new C4 a green-friendly car.
The new C4 will be featuring unique technologies in its segment, including a new blind-spot monitoring system, a cornering light function, cruise control and speed-limiter with road speed memory settings, and an innovative new service called eTouch.
The eTouch technology enables drivers to monitor their driving patterns and fuel consumption, and receive advice on how to improve their fuel economy. Besides offering on-board emergency assistance the system also allows drivers to check the vehicle’s technical status and monitor any necessary maintenance or servicing requirements.
The New C4 will be produced at the Mulhouse PSA Peugeot Citroën plant in France and will premiere at the Paris Motor Show in September.
