. Both cars will be on display at the SEMA Show from October 30 to November 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Velocity uses Cosworth pistons, connecting rods, turbo, intercooler, intake manifold, Intake charge design, fuel system, engine management system and custom exhaust. The stock Veloster Turbo offers 201hp and 195lb-ft of torque, but all of Cosworth's modifications boost power to 400hp and 350lb-ft of torque.
In addition to the wild engine, Hyundai's Hyundai America Technical Center in Irvine, California, went crazy with the body as well. In fact, it looks more like a toy than a real car. It wears 19in X 9in wheels, a body kit that is scraping the ground, rear diffuser, huge rear wing and larger brake ducts.
Hyundai also added larger Brembo brakes and Bilstein springs.
“In creating Velocity, we were inspired to take the Veloster’s original concept strengths to their fullest expression. Velocity gave our design and engineering teams license to take Veloster far beyond everyday production car limitations," said Chris Chapman, head of Hyundai’s Irvine design center.
