Infiniti JX Concept Shown at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

For the last several weeks, Infiniti has slowly been leaking images of its concept JX. It finally the wraps off of the seven-passenger luxury SUV at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, which will go on sale in the Spring of 2012.

“From the dramatic front grille and headlight design to the crescent-cut D-pillar and greenhouse shape, the JX Concept shines as a fresh, bold alternative to the many flavors of vanilla currently dominating the three-row luxury crossover segment,” said Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president and chief creative officer at Infiniti.

The JX has a broad, blunt nose with slit headlights and two lines that curve to the rear. The d-pillar has a large kink at its top. The taillights are wide and narrow similar to the headlights, but the rest of the rear is unremarkable.

For power, the JX will get Infiniti's V6 and a CVT transmission. The CVT will be capable of shifting in steps while in Sport mode to allow for sportier driving. The JX will be available with either all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive.

Infiniti is putting major emphasis on the truck's interior. Its three rows are swathed in leather, and it is available with a 14-speaker Bose stereo. The JX will also come with Infiniti Connection Telematics that syncs the driver's calendar and appointments to the navigation system allowing the driver to more easily find where he or she is going.

More details about the JX will come during the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2011.
