In a clear response to the demand of the Chinese market, Infiniti increased the wheelbase of the Q50L by 48mm. The model will be sold exclusively in China, a market that has already forced, in 2012, the launch of the Q70LQ70Infiniti Q70Japan, 2015 > present9 versions

The official debut of the new Infiniti Q50L is scheduled for late August at the Chengdu Motor Show and it will be marketed in ComfortQ50L 2.0 ComfortInfiniti Q50L 2.0 ComfortJapan, 2014 > present, ElegantQ50L 2.0 ElegantInfiniti Q50L 2.0 ElegantJapan, 2014 > present, SportsQ50L 2.0 SportsInfiniti Q50L 2.0 SportsJapan, 2014 > present, LuxuryQ50L 2.0 Luxury Infiniti Q50L 2.0 Luxury Japan, 2014 > present and Luxury SportsQ50L 2.0 Luxury SportsInfiniti Q50L 2.0 Luxury ...Japan, 2014 > present versions, which will enable a wide range of customization options. The deliveries of the first vehicles are scheduled for November.

The Q50L is powered by Infiniti's first gasoline in line four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine that delivers 211hp and 350Nm of torque. Thanks to the seven-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode the engine offers a combination of performance and efficiency.

In terms of technology the Q50L keeps the same bases of the standard model, with the first ever steer-by-wire system (Direct Adaptative Direction), a dual touch screen with Infiniti InTouch HCI system, the Active Lane Control system and Bose sound system. To increase comfort and meet the demands of Chinese customers, Infiniti introduced in the Q50L an adaptable in-car light system, rear window sunshade and  electronic anti-glare side mirrors.

The focus on the new Q50L is another step towards the expansion of Infiniti in the Chinese market. In a booming market the Japanese brand in China registered a growth of 130% in the first six months of the year, with sales slightly over 14 thousand vehicles. Infiniti wants China to become its second major market, helping the company sustain its business volume.

The new Q50L has an increased importance because it will be the first Infiniti model to be produced internally for the Chinese market. The new model will be produced in Hubei Province, at the Xiangyang factory.
