Sportwagon on go on sale in the UK. For the time being it will be a UK exclusive model. The TOOLTIP|SERIES|4397|previous generation} was popular with fleet and business customers, and Kia is hoping that the new model will be even more popular.
The Sportwagon comes with a choice of two diesel engines - a 1.4-liter or 1.6-liter. The 1.4-liter is only available in the most basic trim level, and the 1.6 will be in everything else. The 1.4 produces 89hp and 220Nm; it uses 67.3mpg imp and 109g/km of CO2. The 1.6 produces 126hp and 260Nm of torque; it uses 64.2mpg imp and 116g/km of CO2. The car is available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. Although, the automatic comes on only a single trim level. Regardless of transmission all cars have stop/start.
The new Cee'd Sportwagon is 15mm longer, 10mm narrower and 40mm lower than the previous car. It has a 17mm wider front track and 27mm wider rear track. Wheelbase is the same 2650mm as the previous generation. The changes should make the car more stable and a better handling vehicle.
The Sportwagon has five trim levels - 1 through 4 and 4 Tech. The 2 trim is the only one available with the automatic transmission. Prices start at £16,895 for the basic car and rise to £24,795 for the top spec 4 Tech trim. 1 trim cars get an iPod compatible stereo and steering wheel mounted controls. The 2 trim has LED running lights and leather trim. The 3 trim has tinted glass, automatic headlights and dual-zone climate control. The 4 trim gets a leather interior, and the Tech trim adds a panoramic sunroof.
The Cee'd will launch in the rest of Europe later in September and will complete its European launch in October.
