but with power boosted to 1,400hp and weight of 1,400kg. A Chinese car dealer who wants to offer something truly unique to offer to his customers is financing the project.
“We are spending thousands of hours of engineering and tooling and testing for a very limited number of cars,” said von Koenigsegg.
According to von Koenigsegg’s research no production car has ever had a 1:1 power-to-weight-ratio. The One:1 will meet the milestone including fluids and the driver.
“Other cars have achieved this but by measuring dry weight -- no oil, no water, no fuel,” he said.
Simulations have shown that the car will have a top speed of 450km/h (279.6mph). The Veyron Super Sport’s record is 430.98km/h (267.8mph). It terms of acceleration, the simulations show that it will be the fastest car in the world to 200km/h, 300km/h and 400km/h.
Von Koenigsegg expects to have a prototype ready for testing by the end of the year, but it could be another year or more before the first One:1 is delivered. He did not say how the engine would be boosted by so much power.
The Chinese dealer clearly had the right idea because according to von Koenigsegg all six One:1 cars are already presold, and there is a waiting list in case any of those buyers fall through. Koenigsegg will not discuss the price other than saying it is “substantially higher” than the Agera S’Koenigsegg Agera SSweden, 2014 > present $1.4 million base price.
“No one needs a car like this. They just need to want one,” said von Koenigsegg.
Von Koenigsegg did not release any images of the car; the images in the gallery are the standard Agera.
