Lotus is becoming more popular in China. To celebrate the added sales and popularity, it brought a limited edition Evora GTE China to the auto show in Beijing that will be limited to 118 cars exclusively in China. to the Chinese market.
Lotus says that it re-tuned the GTE China's suspension ot better suit Chinese roads and added more leather and carbon fiber elements to the interior. Each car comes with a numbered plaque. It is still powered by the 3.5l, supercharged V6 with 444hp.
“Within six months of Lotus Cars’ entry into China, orders have exceeded our expectations, which has strengthened our confidence in developing the China market. At the same time, in accordance with the China market’s characteristics and customer requirements, we have developed the Lotus Evora GTE China Limited Edition which we are launching here in Beijing, together with the Evora IPS,” said Lichen Zhang, President & CEO, Lotus China.
The Evora IPS with paddle shifters will also go on sale in China with a 3.5l V6 with 280hp.
Lotus also announced the Lotus China Racing Club at the show that offer members track days, driving instruction, race car rentals. Members of the club will be able to will also be able to rent the F1-inspired T125.
