has unveiled a new special edition model that celebrates the 81 wins of the British brand in Formula 1 to date. The Exige LF1 will have a limited production of 81 units and receive a number of exclusive trimming and upgrades.
The most visible change is the use of a black and golden paint scheme, similar to the Lotus Formula 1 cars between 1970 and 1980 and that has been brought back since 2011.
Other changes include matte golden alloy wheels, red brake calipers, badges and interior trim in gold and even numbered limited edition carbonfibre build plate.
The high performance Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo tires, the two-piece floating disc brakes and air conditioning are new elements that elevate the Exige S to another level. The limited edition LF1 gets a standard Lotus "Race Pack", which improves the launch control. The vehicle also includes a valve override switch, improved suspension to cope with the new tires and a four mode stability system.
Regarding performance, the Exige LF1 gets the same V6 Supercharged 3.5-liter engine with 350PS and 400Nm of torque. Thanks to all the mechanical configuration the LF1 reaches 100km/h in 4 seconds and a top speed of 274km/h.
The customers who buy the Exige LF1 will also receive free visits to the Lotus Cars factory and the Lotus F1 headquarters, as well as a 1:2 scale replica of Romain Grosjean's helmet and a Lotus F1 USB stick.
