Mercedes discussed the revised G-Class last week and discussed the G63 AMG and G65 AMG then, but it has finally revealed the first images of what the AMG cars will look like.
The AMG cars get a deeper front bumper with larger air intakes, and a different grill from the standard car with a two-bar, chrome grill. They also have dual, chrome exhausts exiting out of the side below the rear doors. All of the revised G-Class cars have LED running lights mounted below the headlights and larger side mirrors with integrated turn signals.
The interior has a new TFT screen between the instruments. Interior options include diamond-quilted leather with the Exclusive package.
The suspension settings, wheels and brakes are all completely new. The wheels are 20in painted in titanium, and there are also optional matte black, 20in wheels. The brakes are new 375 x 36mm six-piston fixed calipers at the front and 330 x 20mm single-piston floating pistons at the rear. The calipers are available in either red and silver. The suspension has been re-tuned for a more supple ride, and the ESP includes hill hold with emergency braking that gives more braking pressure if the driver steps on the brakes quickly. The ESP also detects in a trailer is attached to the car and can counteract fishtailing.
The G63 AMG has a 5.5l twin-turbo V8 with 544hp and 760Nm of torque with start/stop. It claims 100km/h come in 5.4 seconds with a 210km/h top speed. The G63 AMG costs €137,504.50.
The G65 AMG has a 6.0l twin-turbo V12 with 612hp and 1000Nm of torque. It accelerates to 100km/h in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 230km/h. The G65 gets unique 20in wheels, designo leather upholstery and a leather instrument panel standard. It costs €264,180.
Both will be on sale in June.
