The three-door SUV received some exterior design updates, which includes a slightly modified grille, new 19 inches alloy wheels, new color schemes and optional LED daylight and fog lighting.
The interior of the new Paceman has also been revised with MINI focusing on improving its quality. The design team included new coloured anthracite instruments and chrome finishes inside the vents and other minor changes.
Other improvements over the previous model include soundproofing. The new Paceman gets more sound deadening material that, according to MINI serves to improve the model's "acoustic comfort".
Just like the Countryman, the Paceman also gets a new upgraded four-cylinder gasoline direct injection engine in order to meet EU6 emission standards. The Cooper version keeps the same 120hp, while the Cooper S version gets a power increase of 6hp to 187hp.
Thanks to this engine, thePaceman Cooper and Cooper S front wheel drive versions can reach 100km/h in 10.3 and 7.4 seconds, respectively, with a manual six-speed gearbox, and a top speed of 193 and 220km/h . Regarding consumption MINI managed to lower values to 5.9 and 6.0 l/100km, respectively.
The diesel range continues to be comprised of two four-cylinder engines, the 120hp 1.6 engine from the Cooper D and the 141hp 2.0 liters of the Cooper SD. These vehicles reach 100km/h in 10.8 and 9.1 seconds with a manual six-speed gearbox and top speeds of 188 and 202km/h respectively. Average consumption is set at 4.7 and 4.8 l/100km respectively.
As an option, all the Paceman versions are available with the ALL4 all-wheel drive system. In terms of transmissions, the model is still available with a manual six-speed gearbox as standard and an optional six-speed automatic.
At the top of the range still lies Paceman's John Cooper Works version with 215hp.
