Ferrari enters the 2016 season of Formula 1 with the clear objective of push and fight with Mercedes in world championship. For this the Italian Scuderia continues to count with Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen behind the wheel of the new
SF16-H.
Regarding design, the new Ferrari F1 livery has more white than in previous seasons, mainly in the engine cover and the front wing. In terms of construction changes were also made in the nose which is shorter and higher, with direct impact on the aerodynamics of the vehicle. The suspension has also undergone a major change by swaping from a pullrod system to pushrod.
The engine cover has also been modified due to the power unit's tighter and narrower architecture. Again this change has aerodynamic impact. Combustion, turbo and air intake was also worked retuned in the engine, with the aim of finding more power.
Team boss, Maurizio Arrivabene says Ferrari's goal for this season should be to fight for the championship until the last race. With Vettel achieving three victories last season, this year the team aims to further pressure
Mercedes.
Despite having put back the lack of pace of 2014, the results were not the expected for Ferrari in 2015. Vettel finished the championship in third place 103 points behind Hamilton, while Ferrari finished second in the Constructors standings 275 points away from Mercedes.
Ferrari can only hope that the winter stop has meant another quantitative and qualitative leap in pace and that it has been larger than the improvement of its direct competitors.
