The demo for Gran Turismo 6 will also be the competitive platform for GT Academy 2013. That means that any player who downloads the demo will also be competing for the race seat. Sony and Nissan predict that will make it the largest GT Academy competition ever.
Previous GT Academy winners Lucas Ordonez and Jann Mardenborough were on hand during the announcement.
GT Academy works by having players compete regionally and then nationally. When players make it to the national finals, they compete in real cars to find the fastest among them. The winners of each national competition are invited to Silverstone to take part in the GT Academy Race Camp to decide the winner.
