Nissan unveils all-new global sedan in China

Presented with the Sunny model name, Nissan has just presented at the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition its all-new global sedan model. In China, the Sunny will go on sale in January 2011 and will then progressively expand to 170 countries worldwide under different vehicle brand names.

Having been introduced for the first time in China in 2003, the Nissan Sunny was the first locally built model from the new Dongfeng Nissan partnership.  The model was the key to establish the foundations of Nissan in the passenger vehicle market in China thanks to its renowned combination of quality, space and driving performance.

With the all-new Sunny Nissan expects to appeal to young families in their 30s looking for a medium sized sedan that combines a dynamic upscale design with the space, quality and features associated with the Sunny and Nissan brand.

For the new Sunny, Nissan has combined a 1.5-liter HR15DE engine with dual injectors and a new-generation Xtronic CVT with an auxiliary transmission, both a first application in China. Offering easy handling for city driving, the Nissan Sunny delivers superior environmental performance as a projected class leader in fuel economy.

The all-new Sunny features MacPherson struts in the front suspension and torsion beam at the rear, giving it a sporty and agile driving at low speeds, and steady and stable driving at higher speeds.

The new Sunny will be produced in Dongfeng Nissan’s Huadu Plant in Guangzhou.
