in 1963, but the car truly converted the brand into a sports car icon. With a style that has changed little in 50 years, the 911 has won as much on the track as it has the hearts and minds of buyers.
Porsche is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 911 this year with a special edition of the latest model with retro-inspired touches. They will be limited to 1,963 cars.
The car will be unveiled at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt just as the original 911 was in 1963. Sales will begin on September 23.

It comes standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management with specific, sportier tuning, Porsche Dynamic Light System with bi-xenon headlights and cornering lights, a sport exhaust, 20in wheels in the style of Porsche’s iconic Fuchs wheels with matte black details and polished centers, front chrome trim, chrome fins over the engine compartment cover. It comes with either a seven-speed manual or PDK seven-speed automatic.
It will be available in three colors – darker graphite gray, lighter geyser gray or black monochrome. There is also a two-tone “911 50” badge on the rear deck lid.
Inside, the headrests are embroidered with “911 50” logos. It also features aluminum doorsill plates and green-labeled instruments with white needles. The 14-way sport seats have fabric center inserts inspired by the “Pepita” pattern from the original car. There are also optional 18-way sport seats plus. The leather is available in either agate gray or black.
The 50th Anniversary Edition takes 4.5 seconds to get to 100km/h with the manual or 4.3 seconds with the PDK and a top speed of 300km/h with the manual or 298km/h with the PDK. It uses 9.5l/100km with the manual or 8.7l/100km with the PDK and emits 224g/km of CO2 or 205g/km of CO2 depending on transmission.
Prices start at €121,119, which includes 19% German VAT.
