Qoros Releases Sketches for Planned Minivan and Sedan

does not go on sale until later this year in China and early 2014 in Europe, but the company has released sketches for its next planned models – a mid-size sedan and minivan.

Both new models would share the same platform as the 3, and the minivan would also have the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 126hp and 114lb-ft (155Nm) and a turbocharged version with 156hp and 155lb-ft of torque (210Nm). The van will be the first to go on sale sometime in 2015. Reportedly it is called the Qoros 7. The sedan will come somewhat later.

lead designer Gert Hildebrand to create its cars. He says that his design ethos for the cars is “desirable elegance.”

"Very few designers have the chance to design the badge first, and then go on to reflect a completely new vision and dream by designing a brand’s first family of cars. This is an exceptional opportunity, and I don’t believe there is anything more exciting for a designer,” said Hildebrand.

and an Israeli investment company and aims to be the first Chinese automaker to be a sales success in Europe. When the 3 was recently tested by Euro NCAP it received a five-star score and the highest adult safety rating of any car the organization has tested this year.

Sales for the 3 have already begun in Slovakia for €20,960, but it will not be on sale in the rest of Europe until 2014.

Until these models hit the market, Qoros will focus on the 3 sedan’s European launch. It will get a station wagon variant as well.
