McLaren is launching a new limited edition of the 650S to mark the 50th anniversary of the Can-Am series. The special model was developed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), McLaren's performance arm.
To create the Can-Am McLaren based it on the
650S Spider. In addition to receiving a number of lightweight elements, the special edition has received improvements in terms of performance. Both the bonnet as well as the retractable roof are made of carbon fiber, the same material used in the air brake, front splitter, rear bumper, doors and sills.
MSO has equipped the 650S Can-Am with ceramic carbon brakes and black calipers. The alloy wheels have been specially created with a glossy black finish by MSO.
A four-point exhaust system is another unique feature of the 650S Can-Am. The vehicle can be ordered in one of three exclusive colors honoring the original Can-Am cars.
Inside the vehicle gets sports seats upholstered in leather and Alcantara and a unique Can-Am plaque in the driver's door.
The 650S Can-Am is equipped with the same engine of the
650S, with 650hp and 678Nm of torque, which allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3 seconds.
The special edition 650S Can-Am will have a limited production of 50 units that will only be available in Spider body style.
