DS models will be built in China for the local market starting in 2014. The models will be the DS5DS DS5France, 2011 > present37 versions

, an unannounced sedan and an unannounced SUV. The news broke in a Beijing newspaper and come from the vice president of PSA's Chinese partner Changan Automobile Group.

The DS models will be built at Changan's factory in Shenzhen, China. The DS5's production there will begin in the summer of 2013. The sedan and SUV will come in 2014. 

Citroën has only sold the DS4DS DS4France, 2011 > present65 versions

and DS5 in China since June, and it has 13 dealers there as of November. The DS3DS DS3France, 2010 > present99 versions

went on sale in August. PSA plans to add 57 more dealers next year. At the moment, they are all imported into China. 

Imported cars carry a minimum tariff of 25% in China and cars with larger engines face even higher tariffs. By moving production to China, Citroën should be able to increase sales by offering the DS models at lower prices.
