Toro Rosso has unveiled its 2012 Formula 1 car - the STR7. The team is looking forward to better results this year. It is the seventh year that the team has competed in Formula 1, and the STR7 is the third car produced solely by Toro Rosso Racing. The team has increased its staff from 160 to 300 people this season.
"It is far too early to make predictions, but looking at the work we have done over the winter, we must set ourselves the target of finishing sixth or at least seventh by the time we pack up in Brazil in November. No doubt, we will find ourselves fighting with our usual adversaries behind the top four," said Toro Rosso Team Principal Franz Tost.
Toro Rosso focused on stability for its 2012 car. The team is using a Ferrari engine and worked to improve the DRS. The team says that it has not had to make too many changes for the new season compared to last year. It took its time to further refine elements from last year's car to improve them.
The team's driver lineup this year is Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne. Ricciardo competed for HRT last year. Vergne will be a Formula 1 rookie, but he was the team's test driver last year and came in second in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series.
