concept into production in the US will help boost falling sales there. Volkswagen desperately needs to perform better in North America. Despite being one of the world’s largest auto markets, Volkswagen Cars sells fewer cars there than Europe, Asia or South America. in the US. VW plans to have it ready by 2016.

While the name of the vehicle may change when it goes on sale, it will still follow the concept and seat seven passengers. It will ride on the largest version of VW’s MQB platform, which will also allow it to offer all-wheel drive. The platform will limit the engine range to VW’s four-cylinder engines.

The production CrossBlue will likely be revealed at next year’s North American International Auto Show. It will be built at VW’s Tennessee factory, alongside the PassatPassat Gen.7 [B7]Volkswagen Passat Gen.7 [B7]Germany, 2011 > 2014115 versions
