had a fantastic weekend in Spain until a fire ruined some of the celebration. However, the team is not sure that it will be able to score another win this season.
"I can get used to this kind of stuff, I like it. But I think we cannot expect results like this to happen on every occasion, or that we will be there now as a top contender," said Toto Wolff, a Williams board member.
Wolff went on to comment that the season has been very odd given that no team as been dominant. At moments Sauber has been competitive, Mercedes' performance as fluctuated as well. Every race this season has had a different winner from a different team.
Wolff sees the tires as the great equalizer this season. There is a very tight window of performance for the tires both in terms of track temperature and wear.
In preparing for the race in Spain, Williams had no idea that they would win. In fact, even after qualifying, they did not see a win as a guarantee.
"I didn't dream about the win, and I didn't dream about it after qualifying either. Our aim was to keep it calm and score solid points. This is what Pastor's target was in the morning, so he was not going flat out and crazy for the win," said Wolff.
