In 1931, the Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH was founded by Ferdinand Porsche and Anton Piëch. The company is today named Porsche SE and is a luxury sportscars producer still owned by the Piëch and Porsche family. Headquartered at Stuttgart, Germany, the company is currently the majority stakeholder of the Volkswagen AG, parent company of the Volkswagen Group, holding a 50.7% stake.
Over the decades, the Porsche models have become well known for their quality, design as well as for their performance. Porsche also looks back on many successes in different motorsports classes, especially in Le Mans, Formula One and Dakar races.
