Porsche presented this updated version of its 911 GT3 RSR for the 2011 motorsport season at the “Night of Champions” party held at the R&D Centre in Weissach, marking the end of the 2010 motorsport season.

The main focus of the engineers was the aerodynamics at the front and rear, the suspension kinematics and the engine. The 911 GT3 RSR 2011 is powered by the same 4.0-litre, six-cylinder boxer engine as its predecessor, but engine power has been enhanced to 455 hp at 7,800 rpm, an increase of five hp. The power upgrade is possible thanks to the engine management system which adapts to different fuel grades, as well as a redesigned exhaust system and a modified air intake housing. The driveability has also been improved, with maximum revs remaining at 9,400 rpm.

The most obvious modifications can be found at the front of the new 911 GT3 RSR. The 2011 version has a new front lip that provides higher downforce at the front axle. The race ...
