Skoda

Škoda started as a bicycle manufacturer in 1895, founded by Václav Laurin and Václav Klement. In 1905, the company released its first car model, the Voiturette A, a very successful car. Due to economical problems, Škoda merged with Pilsen Škoda Co. in the 1920s.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Škoda established a joint venture with Volkswagen and is a full subsidiary of this carmaker since 2000. Over the last decade, the company has registered large growth numbers, thanks to a radical re-branding strategy, improving the quality and reputation of Skoda cars significantly.
