its first win of the season after starting from third in a contact-heavy Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai.

suffered from tire problems for the early race, but Vettel finished fourth. He pushed extremely hard in the last laps and nearly passed Hamilton on the final lap. It was the best battle of the race.

making contact but neither taking any damage. Then on lap 4, Esteban Gutierrez crashed into the back of Adrian Sutil. Gutierrez was immediately out of the race. Sutil made it another lap with a broken rear wing, but his team was unable to repair it, and he retired as well.

Then around lap 14, Mark Webber made contact with Jean-Eric Vergne. Webber came in for tires and a front wing, but the contact also damaged the rear. Webber's rear wheel came off, and he was forced to retire.

Raikkonen had his own contact with Sergio Perez, which bent his front wing, but he managed to stay out.

This was another race about tire management. Pirelli's soft tires would not last, and most teams switched to the intermediate tires as early as possible. Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button and Nico Hulkenberg both started on the intermediates, which forced them to switch to softs late in the race

Vettel still leads the World Drivers' Championship, but now by just three points ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. Alonso's win leapfrogs him up to third spot with 46 points. Hamilton falls to fourth with 40 points.

In the World Constructors' Championship, Red Bull continues to lead with 78 points, but the strong Ferrari performance today brings them to 73 points. LotusLotusLotusUnited Kingdom, 1952 > present68 models
