With changes to the intermediate tires because of the rain that fell in Silverstone in the second half of the race Hamilton moved ahead of both Williams and calmly led to victory. Nico Rosberg eventually took advantage of the difficulties of Massa and Bottas in the rain to pass both riders and finished the race in second position.
