Nico Rosberg won his second consecutive grand prix of season

It was a glaring error that ended up stealing an almost certain victory from Lewis Hamilton at the Monaco Grand Prix. Still Mercedes conquered a bittersweet victory by the hand of Nico Rosberg.

, which eventually lead to a turnaround at the front pack.

With no need at all, and after the first use of the "virtual safety car", Mercedes brought Hamilton into the pits for a final change to super soft tires. The calculations were poorly made and the 21 seconds advantage from the British driver evaporated and when he returned to the track he had fallen behind Rosberg and Vettel. Hamilton tried to overtake Vettel in the closing laps, but that would eventually prove to be an impossible task. The FerrariFerrariFerrariItaly, 1947 > present233 models

against a barrier at Mirabeau and was eventually penalized later with a five-second stop after the stewards confirmed his fault in the accident.

Due to its pace, the stop turned out to have no effect on the standings and shortly after a change of tires Alonso retired with problems in the gearbox.

had its best performance of the season by putting the two drivers in the top 5. Daniil Kvyat achieved his best result ever in Formula 1 with a fourth place, while Ricciardo finished the race in fifth. The team ordered Kvyat to let pass Daniel Ricciardo, but once it became clear that the Australian was unable to reach Hamilton, the cars exchanged positions once again.

Kimi Raikkonen finished the Monaco Grand Prix in sixth place while in his Force India Sergio Perez cut the finish line in seventh place. McLaren achieved the first points of the season thanks to Jenson Button who finished in eighth place.
