New Mini Clubman arrives in October

model that will make its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The main difference of the new Clubman compared to the previous generation is the size of the new minivan, designed to be larger and roomier in order to attract more customers than its rivals.

Visually one of the big novelty is that the new Mini Clubman will have four doors, instead of the three of the previous generation. The new design is heavily inspired by the new Mini CooperMINI 3MINI (BMW) MINI 3Germany, 2014 > present24 versions

, but his body was created in order to offer greater versatility, more interior and cargo space.

The new Clubman has a larger grille, oval LED headlights and clamshell-style bonnet similar to the Cooper. The rear of the model also includes a new breather that uses the air sucked from the front wheel arches and chrome taillights surroundings. The rear doors are longer in order to facilitate passenger entry. The two boot doors continue to open to the sides.

In terms of dimensions the new Clubman is 293mm longer than its predecessor, with 4253mm. The width has grown 115mm to 1800mm and height increased by 16mm to 1441mm.

The launch range of the new Mini Countryman will include two turbo petrol engines and one turbodiesel engine, similar to what happened at the launch of the hatchback variant last year. All engines are combined as standard with a manual six-speed gearbox. As an option there will be available an automatic six-speed gearbox and one with eight-speed, both with paddle shifts on the steering wheel. The release of Cooper SD Clubman and Cooper S Clubman John Cooper Works version and a hybrid plug-in should be launched later.

Equipped in the Cooper Clubman will be the 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol 136hp and 220Nm of torque. With this engine in manual version, the Clubman reaches 100km/h in 9.1 seconds and a top speed of 205km/h. The advertised fuel consumption is 5.3l/100km, with CO2 emissions of 118g/km.

The Cooper S Clubman version gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder 192hp and 280Nm of torque. The acceleration from 0 to 100km/h is 7.2 seconds with the top speed to reach 228km/h. The average fuel consumption will be around 6.3l/100km, with CO2 emissions of 144g/km.

The 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel equipping the Cooper D Clubman can reach 100km/h in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 212km/h.Mini announces an average consumption of 4.4l/100km and CO2 emissions of 109g/km.
