team, which will not participate as a factory effort next year.

Sordo raced with Citroën from 2005 to 2010 and was third place in the WRC Drivers' Championship in 2008 and 2009. Sordo started his international rallying career at the Spanish round of the WRC in 2003.

“We took our time in assessing the potential of the drivers available to line up alongside Mikko Hirvonen next season. Obviously, Dani was very high on our shortlist and his performances at the Rally de Espana proved that he can still perform at the very highest level,” said Yves Matton, Citroën Racing Team Principal.

Sordo says that the team was his first choice to drive for next season. He says that he learned a lot while at Mini because he was part of the 2011 development year, and he had a larger responsibility at the team. He wants to bring those skills back to Citroën.
