Deloitte, one of the world's major accountancy and research firms, has completed an international study that shows that people between the age of 19 and 31 prefer cars with alternative powertrains. Of those surveyed 59% of them prefer cars that do not use regular internal combustion engines. That statistic was split between 57% who preferred hybrids and just 2% who preferred pure electric cars.
The other big thing that the people who answered the survey latched onto was technology in cars including things like touch screens, navigation and other forms of connectivity.
The generation of young people that Deloitte surveyed will purchase 25% of the cars sold this year and 40% of cars sold in the next 10 years.
Deloitte surveyed young people from the US, UK, France, Germany and China for the study.
